On Saturday, December 19, 2020, Jesús M. González, loving husband and father of six children, passed away at the age of 76.
Born and raised in Acambaro, Guanajuato, Jesús was the second of nine children born to Gabriel González and Jovita Monroy. From a young age, he worked in agriculture to provide for his family and younger siblings. In 1968, he married Virginia de la Luz Ramirez Alvarez. They lived in Illinois, California, and Guanajuato before settling in Chicago for the last 32 years. Together, they raised six children: John, Gabriel, Moises, Francisco, Lucia, and David.
Jesús was a devoted husband and a supportive and encouraging father. He instilled his Catholic faith and unrelenting drive for success in all those he met. With a strong faith in God and tremendous work ethic, he supported his family by working in trades such as electronic assembly, auto assembly, steel machining, and in entrepreneurial ventures including photography, chicken farming, restaurants, and home construction. After retiring, he thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his 14 grandchildren.
He was a voracious reader of history, theology, health, and biographies of historical figures. He learned photography and appreciated creative art, especially natural landscapes. His incredible story-telling demonstrated his sharp mind and dreams of the infinite wonders of the world.
Jesús was preceded in death by his father, Gabriel, and his mother, Jovita. He is survived by his wife Virginia, six children, and 14 grandchildren.
